The Season for Tulips

By this time of the day the light coming through the window is too harsh for me to work in. These Tulips looked great in the light.

I'm almost done with the canvas sneakers which I'm finally feeling good about. A lot of layers and patterns.

Got to go. The Toot is up from her nap. She can't see me on the computer without her being on my lap. It amazes me that I do get some painting done. I've never felt more productive than this time in my life though. She is my inspiration!

Ruffled Feathers

I've been busy working on some Van's canvas sneakers that involves some roosters. This handsome fella isn't the chosen one for the sneakers, but I intend to use him in a painting after I'm done with this project. Looks like this one could ruffle some feathers in the hen house.

Anyway, I just thought I'd do a quick post to keep it fresh. I will be posting some images of the sneakers when I'm done.

I'm off to sleep.

Toot had a Bug

She wasn't feeling well today. So we decided not to got to the zoo this afternoon. We spent the day taking good care of the little one. She is fine now and I'd rather not get into details of her ailment.

Tomorrow is another day and we will be out and about to make up for this day of confinement. The days have been so nice and it's a three day weekend for us. I hope the nice days stay this way for a while.

These butterflies we got on our trip to the Descanso Gardens. One of my favorite things to collect are plastic insects. I've got a nice collection that's starting to catch the Toot's attention. Someday I'll let her get a closer look at my personal collection.

Earth Hour 2008

I'm starting early this time. Early in reminding anyone interested in participating in the Earth Hour. I've signed up and I'm curious to see if there are more people made aware of this event. We tried a few months ago "Lights Out America", and I was surprised to see that there was very little participation here in California and possibly the whole United States. Click here to learn more. Pass the word if you are interested in getting more people involved. Thanks!

We keep it simple.
No diamond rings or a brand new car with a big red ribbon on top.
These were never my desires.
I know now what it is to love someone and I also know when someone loves me.
I don't have much when it comes to material things, but I do have plenty of love.
I hope you do too.
Have a wonderful day and Love everyday!

Day at the Park

When my mind gets cluttered I have to stop and look closely at nature. Trees are just beautiful. I needed this break.

Here is the Swimmy Makeover

Yeah, I know this one looks a little peeved, but that's the way the current goes sometimes.

Two Swimmies for Etsy Project

I've been busy with my store and trying to get more involved with the Etsy community. Here is a great article about the direction Etsy is heading towards. It sounds very exciting and I want to be a part of it. Read: Etsy's First Five Years.

Then I read this article about a fun project to get Etsy people involved in a Handmade Diorama. I jumped on the project and made two Swimmies. This is so exciting! Tomorrow I mail them both to Brooklyn, N.Y.

You can also see other Swimmies from other crafters and artists here. I am also in this group and I've made a Flikr account. This was a very productive day! Fun! Fun! Fun!

I am going to work on the second one a little more. It needs a little more weight around the edges. It needs something. I will post a new photo tomorrow.

Blue Bird is going up on Etsy

I'm finally putting it up on Etsy. This is one of my favorite pieces that I've created in Painter. I want to keep posting new items to keep myself in the loop.
I'm getting tired and I need to get to bed. Tomorrow we'll be feasting on some spicy chili and Chipotle dip with bread and chips. I don't know a thing about football and I have no desire to learn anything about it. The Gorilla does like it and I want him to have some good eats while he watches the Super Bowl. Have a great Sunday!

Treasury West

This is a spliced screen shot of my curated space on Etsy. These are some of my favorite pieces of other sellers. I managed to get a space before all the spots were taken. This is the first Treasury that I've ever had a chance to put together. It was fun and hopefully I'll get a chance to do it again. I was lucky to click on the link before thousands of other sellers or buyers got the spot. Unfortunately it will only be up for a short time. It will end in about 20 hours of my posting this, but it was a fun and worth it. I did remember to take a screen shot to remember my few hours as a "curator" on Etsy.

We aren't allowed to put our own work. Those are the rules. It's too bad because I'm trying to find ways to get more exposure. Because of limited time that I have, I'll just keep chipping at the hard rock wall of Networking and Promotion. I will not give up. There is so much to learn.

This link will only be good for another 20 hours after my posting this. Click to see...
