A sketch called Ambrosia

Ambrosia

This is a sketch that I've been working on a bit at a time. I'll be approaching this in a different manner. Thinking about adding color on the bond paper. I'm usually transferring a pencil sketch to a watercolor block and adding watercolor and gouache to the second generation. I don't want to go through that process with all this detail. I did the pencil sketch about two months ago when I got sick with a cold. I then went over the pencil sketch with a black art pen. This took several days to do. Now, I've been visualizing how I'm going to add color. It'll be different than my usual applications.

Her feet remind me of my mother's feet. Especially her big toes.

Living Life with My Daughter

Today we spent the day at a birthday party. The birthday girl was Veronica who was a classmate in our Parent/Child class. It was another first and we had a great time. It's become more apparent what she enjoys doing and it's a delight to see her eagerness to try new things. Go! Tootie Go!

This is definitely the best part of my life so far and to think that there was a time in my life when I didn't want a child is such a joke now. The happiness and love I feel is Real. I'm enjoying every bit of my little girl. Everyday when I wake up I look forward to see what our day will bring. We are both eager to learn new things. So simple and so amazing what we can do with what we've got.

This smile is my love and I want her to live her life with a passion to do good and be happy. I am grateful!

A Day of Celebration

My little Toot has been with us two amazing years! We let her have cake and ice cream all on her own because this was her day. I don't let her have candy and hardly anything sugary like this, but for her birthday I had to let her loose and she loved it.
Enjoy sweetie pie!

I baked and decorated the cake myself. I tried to let her help, but she lost interest after the sprinkles were put away.  It came out pretty good. Having My Girl has taken me back to my youth, when I used to bake and decorate birthday cakes for the family. I was so lucky to have a mother and father who made time for us and a do it yourself attitude that has stayed with me all my life. I will be passing these principals to my one and only girl. These are the best gifts any parent could give their children. We are blessed.
